PUNTA GORDA/ENGLEWOOD BEACH, Fla. — The USA BMX Sunshine state Nationals are returning to Punta Gorda in 2020.

The three-day competition Camiseta Real Sociedad will take place from Oct. 23 to 25, at the Charlotte BMX track in Carmalita Park.

Charlotte
County last hosted a USA BMX Sunshine state Nationals event back in 2015,
attracting much more than 600 bikers and generating an estimated $750,000 in direct
expenditures.

Next
year’s event will attract hundreds of bikers from across the country and some
international participants are also expected to compete, generating an
estimated $1 million in economic impact for Charlotte County.

“It’s been five years because our last BMX national Qualifier and Charlotte BMX is incredibly thrilled to be selected to host a USA BMX national in 2020,” said Amanda Carr, president of Charlotte BMX, who is also a professional BMX racer and Olympian.

“This
event will massively benefit local companies as well as our community, and we
all look forward to hosting another national Qualifier in Charlotte County.”
